2011 Reunion Announcments

We are pleased to announce we working hard on the plans for the 94th Frankenfield Reunion. The event will at Tohickon Valley Park on Cafferty Road a few miles from the Frankenfield Covered Bridge; located at the intersection of Cafferty and Hollow Horn Roads.

We will be providing a selection of meat dishes this year to complement your famous dishes. You can even lay down your two dollars and compete in one of these catagories: Desserts, Fresh Salads, Vegetable Dishes, and Pasta Creations.

We ask that you bring your personal eating utensils and that your R.S.V.P contain the nature of the food item(s) you will be sharing so that a general list can be posted to the website for those who haven't decided what to bring.

Please be aware that glass containers and alcohol are prohibited in the Park.

Tohickon Park has numerous ammenities and we will be bringing some of our own. There is a play area for children and the pool will be open. There are hiking trails, tall rocks, a stoney creek, camping sites and cabins. Visit the Offical Website for more information on the park.

Have an item that just doen't fit into your decor? Bring an item for our chinese auction to help defray the cost of the reunion. Donations are also appreciated. To make a donation, even if you can not attend this year, you can contact the treasurer.

Accommodations :

If you're not the camping type, there are plenty of bed and breakfast inns in the area. Check out the Bucks County Bed and Breaksfast Association

Other local attractions:

Bucks County Cover Bridge Tour; Van Sant Bridge, Loux Bridge, Cabin Run Bridge, Frankenfield Bridge, Erwinna Bridge, Uhlerstown Bridge, Knecht's Bridge, Sheard's Mill Bridge, Mood Bridge, South Perkasie Bridge, Pine Valley Bridge, Schofield Ford Bridge. Printable directions:

Van Sandt Airport: Glider, Plane/Biplane Rides

Ringing Rocks: Ringing Rocks Park is a 128 acre park nestled in the woods in Upper Black Eddy. Located within the park is a field of boulders. If you hit the rocks with another rock or hammer they make 'pleasant' sounds. Fun for the kids!

Bucks County River Country rents equipment and provides transportation so you can: tube, kayak, canoe, or raft dow the Delaware river.

New Hope/ Lambertville: Two small villages along the Delaware. New Hope is in Pennsylvania and is more on the eceletic side. You can take a steam train ride from New Hope to Ivyland! Across the Delaware River in New Jersey is Lambertville: A small community with shops and art galleries and nice restaurants. New Hope is more popular but I tend to favor Lambertville.

Nockamixon State Park: Great for sailing and/or fishing!

The Mercer and Fonthill Museums: The Mercer Museum contains objects that have been made by hand before the Industrial Revolution. Fonthill Museum is a collection of Moravian Tiles produced by the American Arts and Craft movement collected by Henry Mercer.

Ralph Stover State Park: Park contains a foot bridge that is close to traffic, you can access the high rock vista, but it's a hike! The same view can be access from Tohickon Valley, but it's a hike as well. Only recommended for the experienced.
